Eyes & Ears WIDE Open...What Can You Gain ?...

.  One would think that the old adage of longer you live, the more set in your ways would apply to "everyone" ....and we are sure that it does apply to many people. "I always use...I always went to...Never would I Same oldever...I am content with....This is familiar....It May not be the Best...But I know what to expect..." From the brands of food you choose...the car you drive, the color or style of clothes you wear, the route you drive to work...the service provider you use for your...It's comfortable...but would a change be better ?

We know Same stuffthat the Brewers and the Packers (sorry had to slip that Wisconsin commercial in here :)) didn't get to where they are with the "same stuff different day" attitude and practice. They could not...and you cannot either. If you know about yourself....that change is a challenge, it is difficult...it is something you do not welcome...start with the little things. Begin with...what you do when you get up in the morning..spend a few minutes contemplating positive thoughts and how they will work for you today. What are you having for breakfast...or are you skipping it all together..? Are the shoes you wear the best for your feet....(you only get one pair of feet.)  Is the Dentist, doctor, insurance, phone provider giving you the service you deserve...or is a second opinion... or the recommendation of a friend or associate that might lead you to making a change.

The brand of computer, the grocery store...brand of food..kind of diet..Soooo many things that each of takes for granted that we have the power to change...and it may well be a change for the better...we are all guilty of taking the "same old/comfortable old" for granted without Possibilitiesinvestigating any change...what might that research tell you ? That you ...feel better, save money, save time, improve the environment, earn more money, lose weight...the possibilities for improvement are endless !

When you think about it...the overwhelming majority of real estate agents we know...did not begin their careers as real estate agents...we did not either...there is a classic example of what can happen when you open your mind to change and opportunity !

Remove "never would I ever..." from your thought pattern and we absolutely promise that you will find, learn, discover something new that will be a welcome change in your life.  Don't wait until...the first of the month...your next birthday...January 1st...do it now...a step at a time and the leaps and bounds you can discover will be rewarding experiences.

Hi Sally,
Having an open mind and heart makes living so much more interesting. Who wants to be stuck in "I always", "I never", "I can't", "I won't". "That's not possible"?    Thanks for the thought provoking post.  Have an amazing day.

I didn't start my career as an agent...happy it ended up that way!  I loved my previous job but got laid off as a result of 9/11.  Really enjoy being an agent and hope to continue in this business for a few more years!

Great, thought provoking post.  I told my oldest daughter the same thing and she just got her license a few months ago!   She is working harder than I ever did and doing well.  It's pretty cool to see her take this type of advice to heart!

Hi Sally and David

I really enjoyed your thoughtful post - there is a powerful message here!

It’s certainly far better to know when change is needed, or will be, and to make that change than to suffer the consequences when it’s too late.

I have heard numerous times that the biggest complaint from clients is the poor communication from their agent. Your story renews my determination not to be a victim of my own over-sightedness and overconfidence. We are in a slower market now. Houses that we are used to selling in two weeks now linger for two months…longer if the price is not adjusted. The weekly phone calls will be more numerous…and more important.

Thank you for the reminder, Sally K. & David L. Hanson.
