This upcoming Thursday October 18, there will be an informational group activity in Highlands Ranch with a large focus on the hobby of Geocaching. Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt that’s happening around the clock in real time.  It is happening right near you this very instance.  Using your smartphone with the app enabled, you will travel to coordinates to find hidden boxes, or caches, of items.  Once discovered you mark them as found in your app and decide to leave a trinket or take one that’s in the cache.  This is up to you of course.  Depending on what is in there and what you would like to leave for the next people to find. According to official Geocache numbers there are currently 7 million active Geocachers searching for a total of 3 million hidden geocaches all around the world.  It is truly an impressive phenomenon.

This Thursday October 18th has an introductory course into Geocaching for anyone who has never heard of it or is looking to try it out for their first time. The barriers to entry are quite small for this hobby.  Dealing with Highlands Ranch property management has us keeping in tune with any events like this that provide introductions to several reasons why it is great to live in Highlands Ranch.  You will be meeting at the Fly B Park in Highlands Ranch, near Plaza Dr. at 7:00pm. Be sure to bring a coat as it is getting darker earlier now.  Make sure you have installed the Geocaching app on your smart phone before arriving.  You will need it for all the navigation and checking purposes.
