I saved a few quotes from my few days of sharing quotes on Life Choices. One comes from the story of Alice in Wonderland; another is from Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, and the last -- a country song classic from the great country singer, George Jones, 'CHOICES,' written by Billy Yates and co-writer, Mike Curtis. I find the lyrics in the song have a universal depth applying to all of us: "We are our life choices, " penned by Jean-Paul Sartre. And those choices bring each one of us to our Destiny. (YouTube/George Jones/'Choices')... I believe it is worth a listen. Jane

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the cat.
'I don't much care where -' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the cat.
'So long as I get SOMEWHERE - ' Alice added as an explanation.
'Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat; 'if you only walk long enough.' "
~Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
'You are fettered,' said Scrooge, trembling. 'Tell me why?'
'I wear the chain I forged in life,' replied the Ghost. "I made it link by link,
and yard by yard; I girded it on - of my own free will, and of my own free will,
I wore it.' ~Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
CHOICES (lyrics)
"I've had choices
Since the day that I was born
There were voices
That told me right from wrong
If I had listened
No, I wouldn't be here today
Living and dying
With the choices I made.
I was tempted by an early age I found -
I liked drinkin', oh, and I never turned it down
There were loved ones, but I turned them all away
Now I'm living and dying with the choices I've made.
I guess I'm payin' for the things that I have done
If I could go back, oh Lord knows I'd run,
But I'm still losin' this game of life I play
Losing and dying with the choices I've made.
Living and Dying with the choices I've made.
(Billy Yates - Mike Curtis)
