"Friendship is the shadow of the evening,
which increases with the setting sun of life."
--- Jean de La Fontaine
One of the many aspects of friendship that fascinates me is how incredibly connected we become over time when we genuinely support one another during the course of each others life journey.
Like property, friendship is an investment that we hope grows over time. These particular friends I'm writing about this morning have been a special part of my life for more than 21 years. We became fast friends long before I got into the real estate business. Over the ages we became each others wing woman in Corporate America and remained friends. After I left the company and became licensed to sell Texas Real Estate we continued our friendship and they remained true to their own goals to achieve wealth and independence. I consider myself lucky because they hired me for many real estate transactions. In their many real estate conquests for buying, selling, renting, flipping, and finally selling their own home, it led them to fulfilling retirement. For both of us, it has been an incredible journey.
Driving home, knowing I only had 90 miles to go, I had to pull over when I saw what looked like a wing in the sky. Thus, the inspiration for this blog post. Along the country roads, I stopped to savor the beauty of the setting sun and remember all the good things that came out of true friendship that continues to grow and prosper. And then it happened, I discovered the pot of gold, which really is just a metaphor for striking lasting friendship.
