City of Mesa Household Hazardous Materials Facility Now Open

Date: 10/25/2018 9:34 AM

The City of Mesa Household Hazardous Materials Facility is now open.  Mesa residents now have year-round access to drop off their household hazardous materials such as paint, pesticides, batteries, tires, propane tanks, electronics and much more.

The facility is located at 2412 N. Center St. and is open to Mesa residents Wednesday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-noon.  Residents will need to show upon arrival proof of Mesa residency by either presenting a driver's license with a Mesa address OR a current utility bill or rent receipt with a Mesa address and a photo I.D. with matching name.

Business and industrial waste are strictly prohibited and will not be accepted.

Accepted items that are dropped off in usable condition will be made available free of charge to Mesa residents in our new Swap Shop which is located inside the facility.  Inventory changes daily but includes items such as paint for exterior use, household cleaners, propane tanks, automotive fluids, etc.

To streamline the drop-off process, guests are asked to visit www.mesarecycles.org before visiting the facility for information about accepted items, daily drop-off limits and how to prepare items for drop-off.

Please note that medication will no longer be accepted through our Household Hazardous Materials Programs.  Instead, residents can drop-off expired medication in specially marked MedReturn boxes which are located in Mesa police station lobby areas
