Kentlands Photowalk: Blanket Flower, Gaillardia
Blanket flowers are colorful additions in the gardens on many of the home owners in the Kentlands community located within the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878. Kentlands is a very walkable community and is one of the favorite areas for families being relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC. Gaithersburg is located in the heart of Montgomery County in the north western suburbs of the District.
Subhash Sharma "This fresh looking multicolour Blanket flower (Gaillardia) is named after M. Gaillard de Charentonneau, an 18th-century French magistrate and patron of botany and is a close relative of the sunflower. It's believed that its 'Blanket; name comes from the colourful patterned blankets made by the Native Americans which had the design of these flower petals."
