E85, the "greenest" gasoline on the market is now available to the motoring public at the Woodstock UPI Energy EnviroStation in Woodstock, across from the Toyota plant on Hwy 2.

The fuel is a blend of up to 85% high octane, water-free, corn-based ethanol, produced in Ontario, and UPI's unleaded gasoline. E85 gets its name from the maximum 85% ethanol content, which is seasonally adjusted to ensure optimum ignition.

By using E85, environmental benefits can be achieved, such as the lowering of both vehicle carbon monoxide and net carbon dioxide emissions as well as producing fewer emissions of volatile organic compounds and particulate matter.

UPI's E85 gasoline is safe to use in the 600,000 Flex Fuel vehicles that are currently on Canadian roads. Canada's automakers offer consumers a selection of 38 models of Flex Fuel vehicles, identifiable by a yellow gas cap.

Not only are the fuels retailed at the Woodstock location, but the gas bar itself is also an environmentally friendlier design utilizing modern, cost-effective, above-ground storage and dispensing technology.

Thursday, May 29th marked the official launch of E85 at the Woodstock site which became one of only three gas bars in Canada offering the greener fuel. All three of the gas bars offering E85 in Canada are UPI gas bars. Robert P. Sicard, UPI's President and Chief Executive Officer says, "UPI continuously strives to bring innovative products to the market and to position itself as a leader in the advancement of renewable fuels."

UPI First launched E85 in 2007 at the Guelph Gas Bar and later that same year at the Park Avenue EnviroStation in Chatham.
