Rather calling it a spooky story, the following is an actual event that happened to me not long ago in Sunny California coast. I got a call the coldest day of the year a couple wanted a cabin up in the Santa Cruz mountains. It snowed at the Summit so I detoured and took a southern warmer pass. The coupled wanted to see a cabin that belonged to an eccentric person who passed away. That was a Lincoln log cabin infested with termites and have no real heat inside. They did not Google the house since it looked a lot like Archie Bunker's neighbor's home. The creek has water run off from Loma Prieta hills above where it created a 6.9 jolt that lasted throughout the entire night took 69 lives with it along with a broken Bay Bridge span miles away. Worst part the septic field leached out and there is a red tag on the property as unsanitary.
Next viewing was a property downhill from Summit toward Santa Cruz. I had to preview the property. It had a 90 degree turn off to a short private road. One had to turn on his flashers warning cars behind while slowing down making the 90 deg turn. This is I-17 where everyone else was going 75 mph and hopefully there is no one wanting to get on I-17 from the lone 1 lane gravel road. With the storm the property sat on a hilly side. Well, the hillside property was soaking wet I slipped and had my face dug into a sharp shroub on the ground. My glasses saved my eyes but blood sprouted out that I thought that was it for me. I drove to hospital emergency room in Silicon Valley. Somehow it stopping bleeding much. I expected some stitches on my face. Would I have zipper face like Frankenstein? When some unfortunate event happened to me I do not panic. Rather, I joked around with the medical staff. "How many stitches will I get? Do you sew?" It was a doctor assistant who waited on me. "Sam, do not worry I will make it invisible." "How?" "I use Eastman 910". "No, that was used by dentists to glue tooth crown." " How do you know?". The doctor assistant said you are cracking me up. I have never seen a patient as optimistic as you.
When the cleaning, face glue job was done. The assistant said" "You are lucky there are no nerves in the area and the scar matches your contour. Now, let me tell you my mom had a face lift and dad decided to get one too. Keep up with your sense of humor. Bye.
I do have a photo laying on a hospital bed but it was too bloody to display. The following is me going back to same home showing home next day.
"What happened to you?" "Nothing, a tree branch scratched me."
Recently, I was doing a PMI mortgage removal for my son's grade school classmate. I showed my scar close to the tape to her, a nurse. She said barely visible.
