Does anyone have an economically viable solution to the energy problem?

It is my belief that until a profit can be made from it, there will never be an energy source we can use to get away from oil-based fuels.  Existing technologies, such as fuel cells, wind, solar, ethanol, and bio-diesel have not the ability or potential to replace gasoline as a fuel source en masse.

Some have suggested that a combination of all alternative fuels and practicing conservation will be the answer. I disagree, though these things will help.

In my background before real estate, I helped startups obtain financing and go public to raise funds.  I'd like to find someone with an idea they believe will once and for all replace petroleum products as a fuel source.  If you know of anyone with such an idea, I would like to volunteer my assistance in helping them get such an idea off the ground.

We are not able to completely eliminate our need for oil. We use oil for everything from plastics to shampoo. But we can focus on replacing gasoline, diesel and fuel oil.

If you know of anyone who is a leader in the "Green Movement" try getting them to think like an economist so that we can solve the problem rather than just complain about it.

We really need a paradigm shift!
