Here’s the Newest Carlsbad Art Wall Mural
The newest Carlsbad Art Wall was painted on October 12th, although I didn’t get around to grabbing a photo due to vacation travel and just being busy.
The latest wall mural is by muralist and Oceanside native, and now New York transplant, BB Bastidas (with help from his painting assistant named “Crab”) and it’s stunning…with amazing colors!
Carlsbad artist, Bryan Snyder is the brainchild of the Carlsbad Art Wall, initiated in 2015. This project is in cooperation with Senor Grubby’s, a popular Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village, and the collection of murals over the years is impressive.
Even if you don’t know the #CarlsbadArtWall by name, if you live in the area or have visit you may have seen the changing murals on the east-facing wall on Carlsbad Village Drive, just west of the train tracks.
Carlsbad is known as a growing and changing arts community, with abundant public art (an interactive map). The Carlsbad Art Wall really is a wonderful addition to our expanding and ever-changing arts community, with a new installation several times per year!
Here are some recent Carlsbad Art Wall murals I have enjoyed:
It's great fun to see each new mural, and locals and visitors often hang out to watch artists at work – I have yet to stop by and do that. What a wonderful idea to have beautiful wall art for a few months, giving residents and visitors plenty of time to enjoy these special, and fleeting, public creations. And the Carlsbad Art Wall is a wonderful opportunity for artists to showcase their talents!
