So you live in Central NJ (or even in Bucks County, Pennsylvania) are looking for that frightfully delightful Halloween experience, and do not know where to turn. Here are a few options still available for October 31st, Halloween!
1. If you really love being thoroughly frightened, try Field of Terror Haunted House & Hay Ride in East Windsor. Open today from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a cost to this event but there are also some family-friendly activities that won't scare the kids too badly (hopefully!) Check out the website. http://www.fieldofterror.com/index_default.html
2. iplay America Halloween Happenings is open tonight till 10 p.m. in Freehold. Also a cost, but there are activities promoted for all ages. Registration is required at www.iplayamerica.com/trickortreat
3. And if you want a more sedate experience, i.e., watching a film instead of interacting with ghouls and ghosts, try Halloween Fright Fest: The Exorcist. This very frightening (at least I thoought so) 1973 film is showing tonight at 7 p.m. at the Hopewell Theatre in Hopewell Boro. Grab an early bite before the fright. There are lots of wonderful places to eat in Hopewell like the Brick House Tavern and the Blue Bottle Cafe.
4. In Spotswood, NJ, from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight, in the parking lot of the Spotswood High School, the public is invited to decorate their cars for prizes and give out candy to the kids trick or treating (donations are also being collected for nearby charities and homeless shelters.) Check this out at http://www.spotswoodboro.com/trunkortreat.html
5. Finally, for something completely new and different, get a free Halloween Portrait at DiGiovanni Photography on Route 27 in Kingston, NJ (and get some pizza across the street while you are at it. The owner of the studio is offering free Halloween portraits to anyone in costume from 11 a.m. till 8 p.m.and refreshments and sweets will be available.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
