After reading the following article on www.networkworld.com, I decided to share it with other real estate practitioners on Active Rain.  In my opinion, it's a must read for anyone involved in the real estate industry.  Please check the links below.  The real estate industry is definitely changing!

Lloyd, if only I could understand what the heck a VOW is!  I don't think we have any in our area.  Have you heard of one?

Hey Linda: It's a Virtual Office Website (VOW).

Check it out!

yes, i know "what" it is, but we don't really have any here; from what I can see, the DOJ ruled on something that really isn't popular in all areas; it won't have any affect at all for our area.  Since to my knowledge there are no members who restrict putting their listings into MLS (they don't have their own MLS) then it doesn't affect what we do here in Albuquerque.

Actually, Linda I disagree with your comment "it doesn't affect what we do here in Albuquerque." Thanks to the leadership at the NMREC, they have set the groundwork to address the issue of Limited Service Brokers, VOW's or other models that might appear in the future.  I urge you and other AR members to checkout the below links:

Oh yes I'm familiar with that; I'm the Chairman of the Policy Committee at SWMLS, so we've been working on watching this for a long time; it's just that a VOW is something that nobody has, and in my estimation it's not something we use here; since my site is Number 1 in Google for the most popular keyword searches (thanks to alot of good work from my SEO and webmaster) there wouldn't be a real need to have a VOW's in this area; seems to me the DOJ is working on grooming the horse after he's already left the barn.
