Don’t let the Blastards get you down.

A refusal to allow early occupancy, turned into an endless, streaming rant on the other side. Sad that someone would feel entitled to throw a tantrum simply because they were told NO.

Too many things can go wrong and the liability lies on the homeowner's shoulders for any number of situations, such as:

  • fire
  • accidental falls
  • evicting occupants if loan goes south
  • theft of personal items once they move in
  • property damage due to negligence, etc.

Nowhere in the contract does it say that a homeowner is required to open their doors to EO before the transaction closes and records. Protect the client’s best interests by discouraging early occupancy.

People with narcissistic tendencies will boast about themselves attacking the credibility and knowledge of their opponent. They often cross the boundaries of professionalism, making it personal.

The best advice I can give, is to avoid engaging.

Everything in writing ensures that everyone is on board, rather than high spirited conversations and idle threats that go nowhere. They are a form of bullying and strong arming, used to intimidate.

Some real estate transactions get tedious at best and the greatest advice I can give, once again, is to always stay to the professional side. Don’t let the blastards get you down!

Hi Fred Griffin Good pick for a reblog. It sounded like something you would say.

BTW How badly were you affected by the storm?

Hi, Bill.   Thanks for asking.

Mexico beach to the west of us got absolutley leveled.  Even towns inland, all the way into south Georgia, suffered severe damage.

The bulk of the storm missed Tallahassee.  Still, we got hit with 70MPH winds.  Our power was out for 5 days.  Many roads were blocked by fallen trees.  Most streets still have piles of brush and cut-up-trees stacked on the side of the road (if you need some firewood, there are probably 100 cords of oak on the curb, just in my neighborhood).

Thanks for the re-blog Fred Griffin.

So sad about the devastation and destruction to so many in south Georgia and Florida. Mexico Beach is/was of my cousins favorite vacation spots. Hope there is help available to those who wish to re-build.

Hi, Wanda.

The title of this blog caught my attention.  I made the mistake of allowing early occupancy exactly once.  Big mistake; needed a lawyer to fix it.  Never again.

Mexico Beach will return.  But it's going to take a long time.  They really got slammed.

You know Fred Griffin This talk about Mexico Beach brings back the image of the one house that was still standing after the storm. I saw an interview with the owner/builder. He said their intention was to build a hurricane-proof house. And it only cost about 20% more.

Is an up-date to the building codes in the wind (pun intended).
