I woke up about 6 am. I was smelling the flowers.
They were pretty and the fragrance was strong.
But when I looked out the window...it was brown and grey.
There were no flowers or leaves on the trees.
No Hummingbirds or butterfly's
No, the world has no ended.
I will weather the changes until the flowers and leaves return
It's still green here and I still have a few blooms. But I'm already looking forward to spring.
Nice poem for a grey November day. I drove over the Cascades in the rain from the Willamette Valley, but when we hit Central Oregon, the sun came out and we knew we were home.
A subtle reminder that every season has its beginning and end. Looking forward for more good seasons to come.
When I first saw the flowers before reading your words, I thought Minnesota had a growing season quite different than our's here in in Sacramento.

I think that we all northern people have a dream like this when the weather is not so nice.
Leaves are pretty much gone...or almost...green to brown....and soon...the S word will blanket the landscape.

The flowers are long gone but we still have leaves on the trees. Soon all the trees will shed their leaves & summer will be but a memory
