In this Part 6 video, I show you how to easily fix damaged drywall by skim coating with these diy drywall tips. I first show you the damaged and bubbling texture and paint that needs a skim coat due to a roof leak. Next, I show how to prime the damaged drywall area with a primer called Kilz stain blocking primer. Then I use a 20 minute quick setting joint compound to skim over the area twice.

Next in Part 7 I'll show you how I match the stomp texture. Stay tuned...

A small hole is not so bad but anything larger than 6 inches takes a bit of finesse.

Good morning, Paul Peck what a great video.... homeowners who need to have drywall repaired would be wise to NOT attempt it themselves...it's always best to have a professional drywall/plasterer do the job.... it will be a professional job not a handyman job.... call Paul Peck for this service... I would, if I lived in your area.

I live in a 50s house and have found matching the texture to be challenging. It is a light rolled texture with something added... not as small as sand and not a whole lot of it. Any idea what they may have added to texture in the 50s? We've tried adding something like they fill bean bag chairs with, but it tends to be too large. Thanks!
