Grateful for many books to read
ActiveRain Ambassador Debbie Reynolds has posted a Thanksgiving Challenge for blogger members to post up to ten blogs expressing gratitude for our joys and blessings. This contest does make us think about special moments and times as well as the things we enjoy.
I enjoy reading books and am grateful for the many books to read. My wife, Dolores, is an avid reader and makes sure I have a constant supply of books by our favorite authors on my stack to read. My personal goal is to read a minimum of one book each week and sometimes I might read more. We are lucky to have an outstanding library system in Montgomery County, Maryland and the majority of our books do come from the library. Friends who know that we enjoy reading also give us books on a regular basis. Sometimes we pick up books at our favorite thrift shop. We frequently donate our surplus books to the library at the Kentlands clubhouse or to others.
I frequently post blogs about the books I read and members can find them by using the ActiveRain search bar for Book Recommendation. Several readers of my blog posts have told me that my recommendations have encouraged them to be regular readers. If you need some suggestions, read some of the blogs that I have posted.
