Grateful for Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA
ActiveRain Ambassador Debbie Reynolds has posted a Thanksgiving Challenge for member bloggers. She has asked us to post up to ten blogs before Thanksgiving as we express our gratitude for our personal joys and blessings, big and small.
I am thankful that Dolores and I are members and frequent visitors at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. It is one of our favorite day trip destinations. Click on the link to view the website and plan your visit.
The photograph in this post was taken at the American Dahlia Society Show at Longwood Gardens, one of the many outstanding events that take place there every year.
The current events are the Chrysanthemum Festival and Autumn's Colors on view through November 18, 2018. There are over 17,000 chrysanthemums on display. Take an extra battery for your camera because you will be taking lots of photographs.
The Garden Railway is now on display and there are multiple Open Air Theatre Fountain Shows every day. The very special annual exhibit that changes every year, A Longwood Christmas, will be on display from November 22, 2018 through January 6, 2019.
There is a lot of walking as you tour the grounds which cover over 1,000 acres and you can spend hours in the very large conservatory. When you are ready for lunch, you will want to visit the Cafe, the Beer Garden or the 1906 restaurant. This is mushroom country and we always recommend the mushroom soup.
This is my seventh post in this Thanksgiving Challenge. I hope you have read the others as well.
