How Secure is Your Wireless Printer at Home?

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Gold DRE #00697006

While I dislike dealing with passwords, I now password-protect just about everything. In fact, I just discovered yesterday that my website has protocols that only 30% of the other websites have, which caused my VPN to block it. The company that hosts my website is fairly advanced. So the hosting company had to back down the IP a notch to allow VPN traffic through. I guess the VPN is not as sophisticated as it appears.

However, I simply refuse to put a password on my wireless printer in Hawaii because I'll undoubtedly screw it up. It's easier to just unplug the thing. But you would not believe what happened to me. Elizabeth, my current printer does have wireless, but think it is more secure to plug it in.

Elizabeth- I'd never really thought about that!  Hmmmmm. Our wi-fi is password protected but I'll have Larry check on our printer. But, like you said, all they would do is use up your ink and paper.

Kathy Streib My WiFi is password protected, too. But they don't use your WiFi to access the printer.

Had no clue, Elizabeth. Then again, my printer at home is not wireless. My husband's is and I'm tired of needing to reconnect it as it's always causing some fuss. Until I have no choice, I'm sticking with the old-fashioned kind.
