Thankful for convenience in Kentlands
If you follow my blog posts on a regular basis, you already know that I talk about Kentlands, our home community, all of the time. Kentlands is a planned community within the City of Gaithersburg in the heart of Montgomery County, Maryland. This is a favorite area for families relocated to the Metro Area of Washington, DC.
Dolores and I are thankful for convenience in Kentlands. We need to downsize but have not found another community that offers what we have at our current home. There are many grocery and specialty food stores nearby. We have our choice of many pharmacies. We enjoy the multitude of local as well as national chain restaurants. Hospitals are nearby if we need them and we have access to some of the best medical care available in the country.
We enjoy day trips and they have become more important since I retired and we are able to take frequent day trips in Maryland, to the District of Columbia, to Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Our community has Ride On bus service to Metro for traveling around the area when desired. Out of town guests sometimes take the train to Union Station and then the local transportation to our home. We do not even need to pick the up anywhere.
For those looking for career opportunities, there are many major employers in the area and thousands of new housing units are under construction.
You can easily understand why our area is so popular.
