What the "Ozarks" actually is
The Ozarks is a geographic region that mostly takes up the lower half of Missouri and the Northern part of Arkansas. There is a small amount in Oklahoma and Kansas as well but for the purpose of this blog I will be ignoring that fact. For the majority of my life I have lived in South central Missouri and Northern Arkansas. So I will enjoy bragging to you about my stomping ground and hopefully encourage you to see for yourself!
It's not just Mountains
The Ozark Mountains are beautiful, don't get me wrong. But if you find yourself in a spot where you have driven for a few hours and it's almost as flat as Kansas, don't be surprised if the term 'Ozarks' is still plastered on half the banks and gas stations. It's not a trick, you are not lost.
The Netflix Ozarks is NOT a documentary
This is self explanatory. However most of the beautiful over head shots and some of the scenery is actually Lake of the Ozarks.
Nature, Nature, Nature!
If you are allergic to fresh air and beautiful forest then don't bother. This is truly an amazing place for all things biking, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and so much more. If you hunt or fish you need to be here! In real estate all I hear is "I need more acreage!" And guess what. I deliver.
You want a river instead of a pool. Done. How about enough wild life strutting around your back yard that you feel like a Disney princess and give them names. Or make those cute furies into a deliciouse fried dinner. Your choice, whatever.
Your dollar will go farther!
Cost of living can be a major factor when looking for a place to live. I'm telling you, the Ozarks is an affordable place to live! Granted we have our higher priced areas, but by comparison even those are not to bad. I found this handy little tool to give you an idea of how far your dollar will go.
