Ways to Save Gas and Reduce Global Warming

Use public transportation. Ride the bus (after all, it is free in Park City and the buses use bio-diesel), ride your bike or walk.
Carpool.  Check out www.erideshare.com to find someone to share a ride with if you can't find anyone.

Telecommute. Work from home every chance you get.
Combine errands and walk between stops. Go to the grocery store and the post office in one trip rather than two. Use the pharmacy and bank inside the grocery stores when possible. Walk to other stores rather than re-parking.
Slow it down. The faster you drive, the faster you burn gas.  Avoid rapid acceleration and use cruise control when you are able.

Keep your tires properly inflated. This actually gets you better gas mileage. Check your tires at least once per month or at each oil change.
Keep it light. Remove any un-needed weight from the car. You will get best gas mileage when your car is light and aerodynamic. Remove ski and bike racks you're not using, they tend to create drag.
Keep your car tuned, change your oil and change your air filter frequently.
Park in the shade. Sitting in the hot sun causes gas to evaporate out of your tank. Parking in the shade also keeps it cooler inside, and you will need less A/C to cool off.

If you're in the market for car, please consider getting a low- or no-emissions vehicle. A hybrid can be a good option, or you can get a diesel and then use biodiesel fuel.

Consider using a motorcycle or a scooter instead of a car. They are much cheaper than cars and they often get 70 mpg or better.

Great ideas.  I was just thinking about how I could use my car less as I was on my way home from work yesterday.  I decided I would try to work from home at least 1 more day each week.  I like the idea of the scooter, but I'm thinking showing property on a scooter might be going too far.

Hope - I agree with you, our clients might look at us funny if we went out to show homes on a scooter. I can just picture that interaction...here's your bike helmut, lets hop on my scooter and go...might have to push it up some of the mountains around here though
