Thankfulness Day 2: A thank you for a fabulous haircut!

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH Real Estate AB95346

A year ago, I woke up wanting to make a big change to my hair, which I've worn shoulder-length for most of my adult life.  So I went to my long-time hairdresser and said I wanted it short and layered.

He did exactly what I asked of him. And as I drove home, I sort of liked it.  But I woke up the next morning with the first of a year of really bad hair days. I mean, we're talking cow licks here!

Recently, I listed a condo in Adams Morgan for a seller who is a hairdresser in Georgetown.  As we discussed strategy for getting her place sold, we also discussed my hair, which is now long enough to get rid of the layers.  And today she gave me an amazing haircut - and I am sooooo thankful!.

Some time next week, I'll change out my profile picture to show it off!

So, if you are in the DC area and feel like getting a great hair cut, Alayna on M Street at 202-339-9500 and ask for Kim Carmel (she's there on Friday and Saturday).

If are in the DC area and want to buy or sell a house or condo, call me!

If you are planning a move to or from the Washington, DC metro area, contact me before you make any real estate decisions.  Call or text me at 202-549-5167 or email  housepat@mac.com.

I've always been challenged with my hair, too, Patricia, so I empathize with your situation. Looking forward to seeing your new pic. Nice to see you back here; I've always enjoyed your posts.

A few years ago (actually it's been EIGHT) I grew tired of my long hair and decided to go age appropriate shorter. It was cute at first, but like you, I accepted the fact that I was born to have long hair. Thankfully it grows back.

I look forward to seeing your new 'do in the Rain! (And it's great to see you back, period.)

Morning Patricia.

I cut my own, what do you think?  It's not layered, but then again, I save a lot of money....

I went from layered to round and puffy.  The bow tie really adds.

Wondering if I should change my profile photo.

Let me know.

Can't wait to see the "new do," Pat... I also did a post on my gratitude for my hair stylist, with whom I've now had a 20 year relationship. Nothing ruins a day like starting off with a bad hair day!

Patricia,

I hear you and can appreciate a good haircut.  When we moved to Napa from LA, I did not find a competent hair stylist.  I did manage to make a couple of trips to LA to have Stan correct the disasters.  When we moved to Santa Barbara I was enchanted to be driving an hour an a half at the crack of dawn to Beverly Hills to see Stan again...I am looking forward to your photo.  A

Oh, I can't WAIT to see it, Patricia! I can't imagine a year of hair-hating! Layers never worked for me either and I swear, every hairdresser wants to give you layers, don't they? I'm glad you found one that understands hair and did you right!

Hi Pat,
So glad you're feeling good about your hair again!  I feel like I've had a year of bad hair days, too... as I've been attempting to grow my hair out for a change.  I'm getting to the point where I feel like maybe I'm meant to have short hair.  But, I've invested this much time.  I'll hang in there a bit longer.
