"The couples that are meant to be together are the ones that go through everything that could tear them apart but instead makes them stronger."
In my desire to write about how thankful I am for my husband, I looked back on my post from last year: 12 Days of Thanksgiving 2017: Day 2. I don't want to be redundant and repeat myself. However, I can't imagine participating in writing a series on what I am thankful for without including Max. So, in addition to what I said last year, let me add:
I've heard the saying that you can tell a lot about a man by the way he treats his mother. Max always treated his mother with the utmost respect and whenever he walked in the room her face would light up like a Christmas tree. She loved all her children but Max was the light of her life. Before he married me he asked for his mother's blessing. We will never know what he would have done if she didn't approve. I'm glad we didn't have to find out.
I don't dwell on the challenges of our marriage, and there were plenty. How can there not be? Life is full of them for all of us, isn't it? I only know that I am very grateful for the time we had together.
Max once told me I am the one who taught him what love really is. He was the one who taught me giving and getting unconditional love is real. That will carry me through until we are together again.
