As I walk the dogs I ponder... what went wrong with ---

Services for Real Estate Pros with John Henry Masterworks Design International, Inc. 13013

In no particular order...things that come to mind while taking out the pups.

ITEM: Did you know that valedictorians rarely become rich and famous. The average millionaire's IQ is 2.9.  Whew, glad I was not one of those folks.  I have a chance now!

ITEM: If you brush your teeth twice a day you will live longer.  Less cardiovascular mortality.  Hmmm.  Wish they told me that a few years ago.  Something to do with inflammation of gums that could spread to other tissue.

ITEM: Music keeps getting worse.  You used to go into a restaurant and recognize a few songs.  Now I run out remembering nothing I have heard because there is no 'music' there.  Oh, I can't hum a single song from McCartney's new album.

ITEM: How can we maintain the standard of living in this country while the third world catches up so quickly and starts to level the playing field?  Should we worry about this more or not?  We have the technology and brains and some time left to figure out how to be more self-sustainable, cut out what is not going to work in the long run and figure out how to save the planet now.

ITEM: Why do dogs who never sniff at anything when raised alone all of a sudden pick up habits of other dogs who sniff at everything if paired.

ITEM: There is too much stuff to keep up with in regards to maintaining a small business.  I will blog about this separately, but after reading all the things that are suggested, recommended, and implied here on AR I am starting to feel queasy...

ITEM: Lightbulb moment in regards to above item -- 'Necessity is the mother of Motivation'.  Yes, that sounds about right.  So many things to do, so little time.  Look ahead and see what's about to hit you and devise a strategy to avoid it.  And work out another plan to stay out of the way of future meteorites.  Speaking of which, did you know that 10 asteroids or meteors passed by earth this year so far not discovered until 24 hours of passing by.  The definition of a meteor is a non-man-made celestial object that comes closer to earch than our orbiting moon.  Makes you wonder...

ITEM: What happened to those spring loaded arm conditioning things that we'd see on TV years ago?  And speaking of commercials, have you noticed how many DRUGS are advertised in prime time???  If you don't keep track, they all have people in slow motion having the time of their lives and at the end you have no idea what they are supposed to do. But all of a sudden you wake up and there is an insane warning at the end that the side effects will essentially wipe you out before you are 'cured'.

ITEM: There should be a hashtag for stupidity.

ITEM: Why is the hurricane season so long around here.  Really.  I have a global warming warning neighbor who relishes telling me every morning the name of every new tropical storm on the horizon...  And why is it still hitting 80s here in Florida?  Every year I swear I am moving north.  Three straight months of 90 plus degree days and 90 percent humidity is ENOUGH.

ITEM: Movie trailers.  I am getting tired of listening to some great classic rock in these previews: AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring -- and then when I watch the movie finally none of that rock shows up anywhere.  Nowhere. Something needs to be done about this.

That's it. Short with no graphics.  Except our PeekaPoo Bentley at top.

John, dogs are just the best!  They make you feel better as you suffer all of the psychosomatic symptoms of all of those prime time drug ads!

Patricia Kennedy Hi Patricia.  I grew up in a 'no dog' family living overseas.  Animals were not tolerated in condo style living.  About 5 years ago my sister in law sent a photo to us of a scared little ball of white fur with black eyes and nose.  I warned my wife: no dogs on the furniture, no slobbering, etc.  I used to not touch the little guy and if I had to I'd wash my hands but get him on my lap now and he likes sitting on the ottoman.  We babysit an older dog, a terrier, across the street who would rather live with us now.  Don't you think dogs know more than we credit them?  They are like little two-year-olds.  Permanent at that age but have so much instinct and expectation.  It is astonishing.  Yes, they make you feel better, guilty, happy, and content.  They also require exercise which helps a lot!! ha  Thanks.

Dogs cannot be known as "man's best friend" without a reason. Loyal until the end, dogs can also alleviate some of our worries when you see them wagging their tails at the moment you show up at your door. It is such a welcoming sight.

Hi John, Thanks for the items to think about while out walking dogs.  I wonder what the dogs are wondering as they are going for walks with us.

Morning John.

I don't ponder on much these days.  Whatever happens is something I'll take care of as it happens

William Feela Great observation William.  I find that only watching escapist movies can I completely let go of my work obligations.

Leif Price Leif, when your dogs look at you with those soulful eyes and wag their tales, you know you are neglecting something that they would really appreciate and if you don't get to it you will feel guiltier than cheating on something...

Bob Crane Bob, that is a VERY GOOD question.  I think this is a metaphysical issue that is beyond my realm.  However when walking dogs I think they are the happiest and are simply enjoying the forest and the trees together without a whit of trepidation about anything.

James Dray Hi James, for many pros pondering is preempted by action.  Therefore: no reason to ponder.  My pondering is an accumulation of things that bug me when I think about them or make me wonder... why oh why??  Thanks much.

John- I ponder 24/7. I am glad that you have finally known the joys of a dog!  I've had one off and on for many years (currently without) and they are the epitome of unconditional love. And yes, they do know more than what we give them credit for.

And yes, brush your teeth at least twice a day and don't forget to is very important for heart health!!!!

Kathy Streib Hi Kathy, this morning our neighbor dog came over as usual and we had to separate them because ours is territorial and possessive.  I was in the den and asked Pam where the terrier, Sparky was.  She said she didn't know.  I opened the door to the living room and the little guy was sitting on the couch exactly where I sit and looking forlorn.  When I petted him he gave out a little moan of happiness, as he is a bit neglected.  The most touching and endearing thing an animal can do to affect you so deeply.  It just blew me away.  He keeps to himself and asks for very little as he knows the other dog will get on his case, etc.

And yes: brushing is good!  thanks for reminding me!!

I have thought about many of those things especailly the drug commercials. Why would someone want to take something that will kill them or render them a vegetable?

I love your list of totally unrelated thoughts. What fun! I agree about the drug commercials. There are a ton of them, and they always come with a bunch of warnings that usually include death. Um, no thanks.

Debbie Reynolds Those drug commercials are endless and look alike and have so many disclaimers that they sound more dangerous than the disease!!

Kat Palmiotti Hi Kat, glad you got a kick out of this.  We all have ... stray thoughts...  some worth sharing, some not!
