For the most part I am thankful for cellphone technology. I remember my first cell phone, a Motorola Bag Phone in 1991.
It's hard to believe its been 27 years already. I doubt I could recall all the different models I've owned since that point in time but my favorite had to be the flip phone that made me feel like I could call Scottie and ask him to beam me up... no intelligent life here.
"For the most part" is truly how I feel about cell phone technology. Back in 1991 coverage was spotty which was annoying at times but also a convenient excuse for not taking a call. Today there really is no excuse. Even here in fly over country pretty much every inch of the State has cellphone service.
What I am thankful for is:
No long distance charges
I can reach my children (17 and 18) nearly any time.
No need for land lines
Texting
What I could do without is:
FB notifications
Games on phones
About those FB notifications, I need to figure out how to shut them off. I've tried to delete FB from my phone... it won't go away. I've shut off notifications on my phone and on the FB web site but they just keep coming. They come from people I don't know and groups and topics I could care less about. Any suggestions?
