I am so thankful for being a Realtor in Beverly Hills, CA words can hardly describe it. Who would have thought that an Airborne Ranger Infantry Captain would one day become a Beverly Hills, CA. Realtor? Interesting how life takes twists and turns. More so, it is difficult at times to see and understand, that when the opportunity is there, we make decisions which ultimately change our lives and our directions forever.
Twenty-two years later in the local market, all I can say is how thankful and grateful I am for having had the opportunity to represent some of the famous, and even some of the infamous clients. I also appreciated the ordinary as well as the regular buyers and sellers from all over the world. Some required me to sign confidentiality agreements, others wanted me to brag about them, that I represented them. Then again there were others who just loved the fact, that they met a down to earth honest and not pretentious Beverly Hills Realtor, who did not feel intimidated by their wealth and reputation.
I can still hear some of the seasoned Realtors that I met twenty-two years ago with the “fake Beverly Hills accent” and I just smiled and said to myself I will never become like them😊! Somehow, I managed to be grounded over the years and have not compromised my integrity for money.
Keep in mind life of a Beverly Hills Realtor is not just eating caviar and drinking champagne and making deals over the phone, as some people perceive it by watching “reality television”. It is hard work from the morning to late at night. Indeed, we have amazing price ranges from the very low end to the ultra-high end not just in Single Family homes to Mega Mansions, but in Condominiums as well as in Vacant Land price points.
The reality is, we just have more opportunities to interact with dreamers and real buyers from all over the Globe. Since, people want to live here in Beverly Hills, due to the wonderful reputation and the glamorous life, that is real and perceived and let’s not forget the climate of Beverly Hills is fantastic.
This in turn creates many challenges, because the global customs of buying and selling are very different from how we conduct sales and purchases in my market. It also makes it more challenging to determine the real buyer’s vs the dreamers from all over the world.
Books have been written about money, ambition and the Lust for Land in Los Angeles and vicinity. The dirty money and the politics behind the scenes and the generous philanthropy that is also taking place in the background and sadly that is less talked about or published.
I have met Billionaires who were kind and down to earth and I have also met phony baloney people with little money who were arrogant and even obnoxious in their interactions. I have made friends with some who were kind, caring and generous to a fault and I am grateful for this. If I have not been a Beverly Hills Realtor, these opportunities would never have presented themselves to me. For this I am Thankful and very Grateful.
I will never forget what my father told me when I was young: “every dollar is a dollar” do not forget that and treat others with respect and kindness as you would like to be treated. His wisdom was great and not that easy to achieve. I try every day to follow his guidance.
Now keep in mind my office is on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA it does give bragging rights...... quite a step up from having my office in an Infantry Fighting Vehicle of the US Army!!!
