"But I don't want to change my Headshot"

By

A few months ago, I realized that my headshot may be reflecting a earlier time in life.  My hair was quite a bit longer and my glasses were proving to be more comfortable than contacts.  Was it time to change headshots?

The thought of it all:

  • updating profiles
  • scheduling a photo shoot on just the right Oklahoma weather day
  • practicing a smile that looks authentic - albeit I am generally a happy person and don't have to practice that much 😊
  • and I may have to cover up a little more silver hair this year

I kept thinking to myself, "But I don't want to change my Headshot!"

NOW, to move into what I call "Solution-Focused Mode."

It was time to take some drastic measures if I was going to be able to keep my current photo.

Happy to report that I am sporting a similar (shorter) hairdo and just may be able to pull off a couple more years without having to get a new headshot.  Of course, I will also keep up my anti-aging regiment 😉

How far will you go to keep your current headshot?

 Thank you Li Read
A part of me misses the yearly photo opp when I was a teacher.  It was just a given that it would be updated each year (:
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I won't do a thing.  I met an agent (out of area agent) who was wanting some help with her mom's house locally and when the door opened I honestly thought it must be her mom.  Now I change out my profile picture on the regular.  I'd rather have a candid casual shot than someone not recognize me.  (oh and I don't color my hair)

That's a good one!  You bring up a good point - the candid shot may be the way to go.  Your AR photo is a perfect example.  What a cutie you have there!

OK...so here is my question: Do some Realtors feel like the picture they took in 1998 still looks like them? just asking...

That's a good one!  After I saw your question I went searching for a 1998 pic - which seems much harder these days because I had to look for an actual picture (:  I guess I prefer short hair, because my hair was the almost the same then.  That would be a fun post - pics from 20 years ago and now!

Lol...good point...of course I personally look exactly the same  :):)  I saw a picture of a Realtor a couple of days ago that had a business card photo that looked more like it could be the Realtors daughter...maybe granddaughter

I have had the same thoughts! My hair is much longer now and I really need to update but haven't made the time to get a new photo. I have done studio head shots in the past but may just take a photo outside soon and use it. I am not going back to hair as short as it was in my photo any time soon!

Good morning Libby Cousins
Glad to hear someone else has had similar thoughts.
I agree, if a new photo is required, a candid outside photo will probably do the trick!  Happy Friday (:

Morning Alesha.

I'll take some of that hair you cut off. Think super glue will do the trick?  LOL

You can always go back and get a photo of your Sweet Sixteen picture. Fun post.

With so many iPhone photos each day...there is usually one that you might like that is more current. BTW you are so pretty, a new photo should be simple.
