Gratitude Post #8 - Pacific Union and Compass IT staff

We are in transition!

Toward the end of August we had a surprise announcement that our San Francisco based real estate firm, Pacific Union International, had just been purchase by Compass, a New York firm. This will be a great merger of two stellar companies, capitalizing on the local knowledge and hands-on reputation of Pacific Union with the international exposure and superb tech tools that Compass provides.

As typical with a change of this magnitude, there was an initial shock to overcome, followed by the realization that we'll be learning and using many new tech programs and getting used to a new company culture.

I must say that the integration of Pacific Union into the Compass family has been extremely well implemented. Many informational seminars have been held. Events have been organized so we can get to know Compass agents and feel part of the company, signage will be changed before the end of the month; business cards have been ordered.

Compass welcomes Pacific Unions

All our Pacific Union staff remains the same, from the CEO and Officer Manager here in San Francisco to the assistants, marketing staff, and others. They have been trained in the various programs we'll be using, and are ready to help us with integration. Compass is currently running classes for us Realtors, getting us set up. We have our email addresses; our laptops, phones and tablets have the programs we'll want to use set up and ready to go.

I'm definitely grateful this merger is being handled in a thoughtful, professional manner, and that the Pacific Union IT staff, augmented with Compass IT gurus are here to guide and help us get familiar with new routines.

Soon it won't be Pacific Union and Compass any more; we will be one before the end of the year, and we will be ready. We are Compass!

I saw something in a similar post about Compass but did not know what you were talking about, Lottie, but now I do. Good for you for embracing the change. At my age, I don't much like a lot of change and sometimes struggle as I don't want to get stuck in a rut and let's just face it, sometimse you have shake things up.

Congratulations on your new company merger.

When I worked at a software development company, we worked on a product called, "Compass."  I hadn't thought about that in years.

I am wishing you all the best with your new company merger, Lottie.

Good morning, Myrl Jeffcoat - do you remember what type of software product "Compass" was? It's a name that is used a lot, including my favorite local non-profit, Compass Family Services. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Yes, training is being rolled out in a methodical, careful manner so not to overwhelm us. I have 2 tech training classes scheduled this week, more next week. My "for sale" sign at my townhouse listing has been switched out; I exchanged my A-frame signs today. New headshots taken of everyone. Business cards before the end of the month. We're ready, Debbie Reynolds
