I’m Always Thankful for my Relocation Clients
A good chunk of my business involves buyers who are moving here, from other parts of California or around the country, for a host of reasons. It could be family, our glorious weather, a new job, health reasons, or other issues. The reason doesn't matter...what's important is that help is needed.
Regardless of the reason for the relocation to Carlsbad and other nearby communities here in North San Diego County, I really enjoy working with relocations…something I know well from my own 4 major moves, the many clients I have helped, and work I did with relocations in the corporate world.
I’m thankful for a number of reasons for my relocation clients.
First, I love the opportunities to continuing my learning. Each relocation client brings a new set of challenges to the mix which means I get to learn new things…about the purchase process, about the issues that relocation clients have to cope with, about the support they need to be successful, home inspections, local market conditions, moving pets and kids, and so on.
Second, I really enjoy the opportunity to continue learning about the communities I serve, especially Carlsbad, and all the issues that relocating buyers want to know – the neighborhoods, nearby amenities (shopping, dining, recreation), medical facilities, general issues like taxes and the DMV, traffic, services, general lifestyle issues, and on and on. Every relocation brings questions and opportunities for new research and discovery. Even though I have lived in Carlsbad for over 13 years now there is so much still to discover, and share.
Third, my relocation clients never fail to teach me about customer service and what they need…and each situation is different. There are certainly common themes one must pay attention to – attentiveness and responsiveness, the important of staying in touch and regular communication, the importance of anticipating problems AND solutions, awareness of time differences, understanding and respecting different communication styles, the willingness to truly understand the issues they are dealing with and their needs (near term and longer term), and overall a sensitivity to the emotional issues that confront them as they consider a move to a very different part of the country.
I could go on, but I am so thankful for the many relocations I have worked with, those I am helping now, and the opportunities that lie ahead.
And for those who have found me over the years, and decided I am the right Realtor to help them make their relocation a success…a heartfelt THANK YOU! I love working with you and have learned so much.
