The Winter Market Expectations for Sacramento Home Buyers

Hi Elizabeth... I suppose you could say our market slows down somewhat in December and January, but for some reason I'm always busy those months and have been for most of my life in this profession. And I always tell sellers that maybe there are fewer buyers in the holiday/winters months, but the ones that are out there are typically serious buyers.

Elizabeth, our market has slowed now, and will be rather quiet until after the New Year.  This is a very good time for buyers to purchase a home!

I often remind folks that I signed the contract on my own home late one Christmas Eve.  And, you are right about springtime competition amongst sellers.

Hi Elizabeth- Now this is the kind of information that your local market is interested in reading.  If you're a buyer...why wait?!  And if you're thinking of selling...what are you waiting for. Just make sure you hire an experienced local agent to guide you through this. 

I sold my home on Christmas Day many years ago. We signed the papers the day after but they committed on Christmas. Being on the market during the holidays can prove to be very positive.

Interesting how different market have different buying and selling seasons depending on climate, location, etc.  Right now here in Florida a slew of snowbirds come down from the cold north and start dreaming about a new house!!
