Message on a church readerboard:
"Honk if you love Jesus. Text while driving if you want to meet him."
Texting is such an easy and convenient way to send a quick message to someone immediately. It can be sent at the senders convenience and received at the receivers convenience. We all use it, right?
Does your phone have a delayed-texting feature? My Samsung Galaxy does and I love it! When I tell people I send delayed texts and many of them are to myself they look at me like "Why?". Then I explain some of the many wonderful applications.
Do you have a friend with an upcoming birthday you don't want to forget? Write a text to them and schedule it for the morning of their birthday. They will appreciate you being the first to wish them happy birthday.
Do you want to remember to call someone in three days? Send yourself a text scheduled for the time you want to call them.
Do you want to remember to stop by the pharmacy tomorrow? Send yourself a text scheduled to come in at the time you want to go pick it up.
Do you have a thought you don't want to forget? Send yourself a quick delayed text scheduled to come in later when you'll be home or at the office where you can write it down.
Those are just a few examples of how I use it. For me, the delayed texting feature is way more convenient than putting a reminder in my calendar for certain things. And, it's better than writing a note because I can never find the note. :-)
I am thankful for the delayed texting feature on my phone!
Remember: NEVER text while driving!
