I'm so thankful for my home, a roof over my head, a place to lay my head down on a soft pillow and a warm bed. I'm also so grateful for my fireplace that we can sit by and enjoy the warmth of the fire while watching TV. It seems as if we're in our Winter season already here in Michigan, with temperatures dropping to the low 20's and only in the mid 30's during the day. There are people with no homes, and no place to call home to lay their heads down on a soft pillow and a warm bed.
It's just so sad to see when you're driving down the express way, the people under the bridges with tons of clothing and boxes. They're using as a cover from these cold nights. It just breaks my heart, I never take it for granted, yet I always appreciate what GOD has done for me and where I am in my life today. You just never know or think it would be you and I'm sure those out there probably thought the same thing.
I'm just so appreciative of the many different organizations that help the homeless with food and clothing. This year make a vow to help someone homeless, give to a shelter, or a soup kitchen. I'm sure you can find a way to help someone. Our church this year is making back packs filled with socks, t-shirts, sweaters, gloves, scarfs, & hats along with a few personal hygiene items to go and distribute to the homeless. I also have a few seniors crocheting blankets for a homeless shelter. We also send socks, hats and gloves to the children that are in shelters. So go out and fill a back pack and join us in helping someone homeless in your neighborhood.
