Thankful Thoughts – 4 Legged Fur Children
I love the Thankful Challenge Debbie Reynolds is hosting. It adds more warmth and love to the Rain than there already is. Work has been extra busy for this time of the season so I’m late to the party to write my own posts but, I really can’t say enough just how much I’ve enjoyed reading others posts.
It’s no secret that I absolutely adore our dogs or as we look at them, our fur children. They complete our little family and bring us so much joy. I’ve been around animals all my life and really can’t imagine not having at least one dog. Walter is the first dog that was solely mine, before him it was always family pets that I’d had in my life. It was just me and Walter for many years and in August 2014 I brought Brinks home, he was a tiny little puppy and Walt graciously accepted him. Shortly after that Paul and I started dating. Walter is the kindest dog I’ve ever known and while he was always a gentleman to Paul it took a few months for him to really warm up to him. I think he was making sure that Paul had the right intentions J
Last November we brought Elvis home and once again Walter was a complete gentleman and very accepting of another tiny little pup. Brinks, on the other hand, wasn’t convinced we needed to add to the family. It took him about a month to really accept that Elvis was staying. They always make us laugh because they truly act like brothers. They love each other but, at the same time regularly get on each other’s nerves. It’s very entertaining to watch them interact. There isn’t a day that I come home that I don’t look forward to seeing them all come out to greet me at the car. Pets give so much love and never expect anything in return. I’m thankful for all of our sweet pups.
