Top Ten Community Christmas Trees in Columbus

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital Partners Realty 277320

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It’s already snowing and communities around Columbus are lighting up their trees. One of our favorite things to do during the holidays is looking at Christmas lights. We’d thought we share some of our favorite Community Christmas Trees and Light Displays glowing with the Holiday spirit.

For this list, we are focusing on trees and lights in local neighbors that are FREE to enjoy!

10. Columbus Commons

There are lots of light displays to look at in Downtown Columbus. If you brave the cold, a wondrous sight awaits you at the Columbus Commons. Now through January 2, enjoy over 400,000 LED lights on dozens of trees. Fridays in December get even more festive with free hot chocolate and carousel rides

9. Creekside in Gahanna

Enjoy Christmas at the Creekside as the shopping center in Gahanna hosts a giant Christmas tree and lovely light displays around the city.

8. Historic Dublin

Dublin kicks off its holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, November 29. Enjoy a stroll through historic Dublin and experience holiday entertainment. Santa will arrive in a horse-drawn sleigh along with Mrs. Claus at 6:40 pm to light the tree in Coffman Park

7. Otterbein University

Looking for an old fashion Christmas tree in a cozy setting? Otterbein University invites you for carols and visits from Santa on Friday, November 30. Enjoy the bright tree against the setting of this historic campus.

6. German Village

The entire neighborhood of German Village will light up on December 2nd with Village Lights. Follow the path of hundreds of luminaries as you explore the many shops and parks of German Village all decorated for the holidays

5. Short North

During the holidays, the Short North is transformed into the Short North Pole! This neighborhood becomes extra festive during this time of year. It’s such a tree to enjoy Gallery Hop under the all the twinkling Christmas lights.

4. Worthington

The Tree is on the Village Green and the charming downtown area makes it feel like you are walking back in time to a quiet country town. Enjoy the historic landmarks of Worthington decked out for the holidays. Defiantly worth getting out of the car and walking around in.

3.Upper Arlington

Mallway Park in Upper Arlington will bring in Christmas Cheer with ice sculpting, live reindeer and other holiday fun on Friday, November 30.

Also, Upper Arlington is one of the best places in Columbus to look at Christmas Lights. Some folks in this neighborhood go all out in decorating their homes!

2. The Statehouse

If you are already in downtown going to see the Nutcracker or other holiday activities; swing by the Ohio Statehouse to gaze at the awesome tree there. The Tree Lighting is Tuesday, December 6 this year with music outside on the lawn and other festive activities inside. If you get a chance to tour the Statehouse, the inside of the capital is beautifully decorated for the holidays.

  1. Main Library and Topiary Park

While not technically a Christmas Tree, the Topiary Park will be illuminated with gorgeous lights and luminaries for the holiday season. You can enjoy them with a quiet walk through the park or admire them from inside the main library. The second floor hosts a full view of the park that you can enjoy in comfort with a cup of hot chocolate and your favorite book.

Join the Main library for their holiday open house on November 28 for their Holiday Open House. Enjoy hand on activities, refreshments, and visits from a special guest. Plus enjoy the Huntington Holiday train that adorns the main lobby. You don’t want to miss it.

That’s just a few of our favorite Christmas Trees around Columbus. Which one is your favorite? Did we leave it out? Tell us about it in the comments!
