Today is giving Tuesday and it is going to be a great day. I applaud so many people for giving throughout the year. So many wonderful people that donate their time to things like religious organizations, suicide hotlines, telethons, and soup kitchens to name a few of the many things people do. Giving of your time to help somebody else is good. I myself think that is great way to live your life. Whether it is a supervisory role, fund raising role, or an active helper it is all the same. You are helping out. Whether it is ringing a bell, driving a truck to pick up donations, organizing supplies/donations, or taking care of rescued pets it is all good.
You are making a difference.
Some of the things we volunteer for are not live shattering, or monumental. At least that is what you think. To the people you help it is very important. Your one hour, or a few hours does make a difference. It is the same way with the amount you donate. You may be able to only afford $5 or a $2. It adds up and please give. It really helps.
Sometimes it is about going out of your way, being inconvenienced. I myself hate giving blood here in Michigan. I do it but I have become more adverse to the needles. I get frustrated by the inefficiency and wait times to give blood. It drives me nuts. But I still give. Sometimes that is what giving is all about. It's sometimes inconvenient and troublesome to give of your time, but
DO IT!
Give up a little time of your life to help out!
I myself would rather see people make an immediate impact on somebody's life. I would rather see somebody shovel an elderly womans sidewalk than taking care of a church lawn. But that is just me. After all it is all about what makes you feel good. I guess what I am saying here is do what makes you feel good. But also do what puts smiles on your face. I know it isn't supposed to be about getting thanks, or recognition, but if it drives you to do more. I would rather you get the thanks, the kudos so you do more.
If you don't have the time to give money is always good. Life is sometimes so full especially if you have kids or elderly parents that you have to take care of. Think about the uncle who has parkinsons, or the aunt that died of breast cancer. Give to the causes that make you feel good. Someday you may save somebody like your uncle or aunt. By making it personal you may give more of your money and time. Seeing the effect you have on somebody really does increase the chance of doing more.
When you see the smiles on a special Olympics participants it will make you want to do more. It's about doing just a little more when you can. I especially urge all those arm chair retirees that sit and watch the TV just waiting to die. I respect your right to do what you want after you have worked hard all your life.
Retirees you have so much to give
Get out of the chair
You still have time to make a difference in the world before you die. Give of your time and get out of the chair. Be a mentor, help out on your local meals on wheels, be an organizer or fund raiser. Just do something to make the world a more meaningful place. Don't just sit there and wait to die. You will enjoy life so much more. I know too many retirees that do nothing and then complain about life. Make your golden years even more meaningful.......
I myself beleive that being a caregiver is one of the hardest jobs in the world. Whether it is your spouse that needs help or one of your parents. I applaud you. You are giving so much. Thanks. For each of you that take money out of their pocket to help somebody else thanks. For each of you that donate your time and energy thanks. Let's just make giving Tuesday into giving 2019.
The one thing I can tell you is whatever you do.....
Nobody can take it away from you.
You will have done good.
You are a better person
A good person
So take the first step today and give of your money to a cause that you feel connected too, or a seldom heard cause today. If you have the time research the charity on which ones put your money to best use. Then think about how you can donate your time this holiday season and in 2019 to help somebody else out. I myself am blessed. I bet you are too. So give what you feel comfortable with. Make a difference on giving Tuesday.

Your
is about taking some of your hard earned money and putting it to good use. I have some millionaire relatives that are over 60 that are too worried about keeping their millions instead of helping others. Don't be that way. Help out others.... there are so many people that need it. You can't take your money with you!
Just my thoughts
