Farmer's Market

Grapevine, TX

Open for Business Year-Round

Mondays - Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Sundays: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Running a business "is not just a career-choice, it's a passion." A real estate agent could learn a lot about running a business by modeling after the Farmer's Market. Their branding at Farmer's Market Grapevine is: "WE COMMIT TO BRINGING YOU THE BEST."

Any type of business depends on their local market. Anything else is gravy! The art of sales and marketing your business begins and ends with integrity. Farmer's Market Grapevine makes a commitment. "Our goal is to serve you and your family."

What can other business owners, real estate agents learn from the Farmer's Market Grapevine?

  • Priced Right
  • Fresh
  • Product Knowledge (compliments of Michael Jacobs)
  • Truth-in-Advertising
  • Stage-it-Well
  • Lighting is Just Right
  • Variety
  • Organized (day and night)
  • Always Professional
  • Friendly Staff
  • Serves the Community
  • Business based on Repeats and Referrals

Parallels Between the Farmer's Market & a Real Estate Business Owner

Wind, rain, sunny, sleet, foggy, or snow - always be ready when business comes your way and give clear instructions about when and how you do business. No matter who your customers or clients are, always be professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and know what prospective buyers want by asking appropriate questions about their needs. Talking about you is not acceptable, unless they ask questions about the type of services you provide. Be wise. Always keep it business oriented. Never a slippery slope. Expect that people within the Community will always shop locally - unless they can't get their business from you.

"Price is what you pay.

Value is what you get."

--- Warren Buffett

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI, I absolutely love this post and the analogy you've used. We never know where the inspiration will come from, therefore, always compare, analyze and try.  In a way, we are not that much different from farmers. When I was very young, my Dad had some restaurants and a Deli, I would go with him to the Farmer's Market at 4-5 am, still remember all the hustle and bustle and in search for the best products. There were many vendors but some stood out from the crowd, they were knowledgeable, friendly and always went the extra mile.

Beth Atalay - What a great and personal life experience you learned at an early age about the Farmer's Market that you can now compare and contrast from those first impressions! Those last two lines read like a movie script. I could almost see and feel your experience while observing the vendors who stood out from the crowd! And you had to get up early and start around 4 or 5 a.m. The "early bird does catch the worm!"

Yes, the similarities are remarkable! Thank you for sharing!!!

What a perfect analogy and beautifully written post, Patricia! I'm with you on all of your points and also enjoy working primarily with referrals and repeat business. Pride in the service (and the product) which you provide is something that truly makes your last point of referrals and repeat business in our business & the farmers markets.

And, boy, do I ever love a good farmers market - I could spend hours there. There's something so 'back to basics' that is so alluring.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - Did you know your comments have a positive effect on me? I have no doubt that the analogy I used between running a business and the Farmers's Market would resonate with you. You're like a cheerleader on ActiveRain - greatly appreciated. Look what I saw at Pier Import! Although tempted, I did not buy it. It is a stool with storage inside.

Oh I like that Warren Buffet quote!!  Who doesn't enjoy browsing through a farmers' market?  And relating it to personal real estate business fits.

This is a really good reminder for any business owner I think. Sometimes when you're all caught up with trying to propel your business forward, you forget that the winning formula is a lot more simple than you worry about it being. It's good to remember the important bits and get the fundamentals right!
