~ Facebook Marketing Tips ~

This is the perfect time of the year to ramp up your social media efforts. Why? Many consumers will have extended time off and plenty of downtime. You can bet a substantial number of those folks will be on Facebook too. Take advantage by doing key things outlined below to improve the likelihood of new visitors (or even repeat followers) spending time on your FB page this month.

Here are 4 things you can do to get your Facebook page ready for the holidays...

  • Concentrate on Themed Photos. Holiday related (or end of year) themed graphics can drive an increase in brand exposure. It is even better if those photos link back to a great article too. A week-long series of photos on key ways to stage your home during the holidays or simple tips for buying/selling during this time of year are also good choices. Remember to include a call to action too!
  • Use Social Media to Generate Interest. Whichever social media platforms you use the most, share your Facebook profile to each of those during the week you want more views on your FB information. Use YouTube, Instagram, G+, Twitter, and/or other SM sites to help send more consumers to your page. The more people who visit the more eyes you will get on your photos/content. This is a key step that is often under-utilized. Use your resources to funnel traffic where you want it.
  • Be Nostalgic. Create a "12 Days of" content list (be creative and ask your followers to come up with 1 or more days on the list), share toys or other gifts you have received and ask consumers what their favorites were (you could even ask what they wanted but never received), provide your best recipes (or ask for others to contribute theirs). This can be really fun and gets readers to participate which means they stay on your page longer.
  • Share Your Story. Use your imagination. Share why you started in this industry, what you love about your career, provide an update on how this year has gone, or even share a few tidbits about your family. Good stories will keep readers on your page and help consumers connect with you.

What are a few things you do on Facebook during the holidays to generate more buzz, increase traffic, or get more consumer participation?

Just like Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD are doing over on YouTube Thursdays, PLEASE stop by the 5 Facebook Business Pages below, LIKE their page, and leave a comment. It is always nice to reciprocate, so if you are visited, please take a moment and return the favor.

A special thank you to Sally K. & David L. Hanson for stepping up last week to produce the weekly Facebook Fridays article while I was out of town. Much appreciated Sally!

As always, enjoy Rainers!

Thanks for the mention.  On my to do list is to create a page dedicated to Cincinnati patio homes.  I'd expect over time that to gain more traction than my generic page.  Bill

Pleased you enjoy them. Thank you Hannah.

You are very welcome, Faye.

Great to hear, Debra. They can be very effective.

Laura: Much appreciated.

They work well, Sham.

Might as well start on it today, Gabe. ;-)

That should do very well, Bill. As you know, it can take some time to build followership but it is worth it when it starts to pay off.

You betcha Ricardo.

Local images that show you live, work, play in the area where all the real estate listings are located. The west coast portals can not pull off what the local you are there, use me the local expert can. Too many agents, brokers don't play the home town advantage card to showcase their area Anita Clark ! Show and tell so it is no secret where you live. It attracts outside your market buyers, it makes the community locals proud of their surroundings you are bragging up online.

Another item to add to the list is Post Scheduling. Instead of doing one activity a day, do weeks at a single time while you're in the grove and time blocking for lead gen.

This time of year it can be tough but the benefits are worth it, M.C.

True, Toby. We just have to remember to engage after the fact or risk losing those who are interested.
