~ Facebook Marketing Tips ~

This is the perfect time of the year to ramp up your social media efforts. Why? Many consumers will have extended time off and plenty of downtime. You can bet a substantial number of those folks will be on Facebook too. Take advantage by doing key things outlined below to improve the likelihood of new visitors (or even repeat followers) spending time on your FB page this month.

Here are 4 things you can do to get your Facebook page ready for the holidays...

  • Concentrate on Themed Photos. Holiday related (or end of year) themed graphics can drive an increase in brand exposure. It is even better if those photos link back to a great article too. A week-long series of photos on key ways to stage your home during the holidays or simple tips for buying/selling during this time of year are also good choices. Remember to include a call to action too!
  • Use Social Media to Generate Interest. Whichever social media platforms you use the most, share your Facebook profile to each of those during the week you want more views on your FB information. Use YouTube, Instagram, G+, Twitter, and/or other SM sites to help send more consumers to your page. The more people who visit the more eyes you will get on your photos/content. This is a key step that is often under-utilized. Use your resources to funnel traffic where you want it.  
  • Be Nostalgic. Create a "12 Days of" content list (be creative and ask your followers to come up with 1 or more days on the list), share toys or other gifts you have received and ask consumers what their favorites were (you could even ask what they wanted but never received), provide your best recipes (or ask for others to contribute theirs). This can be really fun and gets readers to participate which means they stay on your page longer.
  • Share Your Story. Use your imagination. Share why you started in this industry, what you love about your career, provide an update on how this year has gone, or even share a few tidbits about your family. Good stories will keep readers on your page and help consumers connect with you.

Another item to add to the list is Post Scheduling. Instead of doing one activity a day, do weeks at a single time while you're in the grove and time blocking for lead gen.
