This is What Lowlife Scumball Agents Do to Us

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Gold DRE #00697006

Let me be clear that I am not badmouthing all agents. It is always just a few that ruin it for the rest of us. One thing I have noticed over my 40+ years in real estate is there seems to be a) no shortage of scumball agents and b) that puts us always on high alert that a client could confuse the good agents with those guys.

And by "guys" I mean women or men or any other combination of gender preferences.

You would think that by the time a seller has contacted an agent and indicated they want that particular agent to represent them that they would have some iota of trust in that agent. But some people don't trust anybody. They don't read reviews, either, so they automatically lump us in with the scumballs.

If you like, you can read actual examples of this behavior in my personal blog today at this link: Can I List With Another Agent if My House Does Not Sell?

Elizabeth, those poor real estate agents(refuse to call them Realtors) definitely gives our profession a black eye. I like you try to rise to the top to show there is a big difference.

Hi Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents, like you, I offer free cancellation, if they're not happy, they shouldn't have to just play the waiting game. That never happened. Unfortunately, there are some bad apples in every profession. Your clients are in great hands with you!

I'm with you when it comes to automatic cancellation with a dissatisfied client, Elizabeth.  And, like you, I've never had it happen, although I would have liked to fire my share of clients over the years.

Hi Elicabeth- what's unfortunate is that agents like the one you referenced can give the whole profession a bad name. Offering an automatic cancellation is a lot more professional.

Elizabeth, I so agree with you.   I had a buyer interview me, and SURE he had a bad experience with a previous agent, and now has his guard (wall) up about 10 feet!
