It's Happening Again Christmas in Occupied Clarksville TN
Fort Defiance will be having a celebration depicting a Christmas during the occupied years of the 1860's. These were hard times during the Civil War back when Christmases were simple. A special meal or dessert was shared, a small gift perhaps or sharing a piece of candy made this time of year special. This is something to see and reflect on. Christmas in Occupied Clarksville is a special event.
The day is Sunday, December 16th from 3-4 and again from 5-6 PM. Step back in time with period costumes, reenactments, Santa, games and refreshments. Santa will be there to read to children. Fort Defiance Civil War and Interpretive Center has much to share throughout the year and is open 7 days a week.
Bring friends, bring family or come by yourself. This historic site was occupied by both Armies during the war but was held the longest by the Union Army.
The park overlooks the river with a precipice that allowed a good view of the river and the town of Clarksville. This park is managed by the Tennessee Parks System.
Christmas at Fort Defiance is FREE and open to the public.
