'Tis the Season for holiday music, pics with Santa, hot chocolate, and Holiday light displays! Visit the Smithsonian's National Zoo in NW DC to see the annual holiday light display, the ZooLights. Now through January 1st and open daily from 5 - 9 pm (the Zoo is also open for regular visits and special events)... follow the snowflake path, find the Gingerbread Village, indulge in seasonal treats (gingerbread, hot chocolate, eggnog, holiday cookies ... roast your own s'mores at the Conservation Pavillion), see a performance and watch animals come to life as laser lights.
There will also be an opportunity to do some holiday shopping December 7, 8, and 9 when the Grump Holiday Market sets up shop at the National Zoo.
The event is free for all but there is a $25 flat rate for parking if you don't arrive via Metro or other means of transportation. Military Night is scheduled for Thursday December 13th - active duty and veterans can save 10 or 15 % on an annual membership (depending on membership level) when they sign up that day.
Light this way... the Smithsonian's National Zoo annual ZooLights.
