Running an online marketing agency (GIDFM) means I work from home most of the time. The first few months seem so easy. You're still so pumped up about your new venture that you can work in just about any condtion, whether it's in your kitchen or even in your bedroom! But as time passes by, and as you get more work, you start to feel the strain of working from home. You get mental blocks every now and then, the type that make you want to take that short walk for a breather.

This article from a good friend and fellow realtor Anita Clark has some great tips for those of us who work from home. Don't worry, it doesn't involve any expensive renovation. She has included some pretty simple yet effective ideas, such as tidying up your work desk and adding greenery to your workspace.

Good Morning,

I haven't read Anita's post but wanted to comment about working from home.  With computers and cell phones I rarely go to the office anymore.  A designated work spot and a good list of "to do's" serves me well.  That list is like your Mom standing behind you reminding you there are a few more tasks to finish.  When I do something extra, I add it to the list and cross it off. It makes me feel even more productive. :-)  Another trick, especially for chores you don't want to do is to set a timer to get you going.  You can manage 30 minutes working on something you don't really want to do-then move on the the next item. Bit by bit, the list disappears. AND, do the most unpleasant job first to get it out of the way.

Thank you for reblogging this - I hadn't seen the original and Anita does have a lot of great ideas. I need to get a "to-do" board. I do tend to get a little distracted at times. Have a great day!
