We've been using NextDoor for a while now to stay in touch with our local market and to keep brand awareness going for our real estate business. I will say that I have mixed feelings about what being a NextDoor sponsor provides compares to what it costs. The verdict is still out on whether it is worth continuing or not.
But recently we tried a feature on the neighborhood social media platform that isn't new, but fairly new to us: NextDoor Polling.
What is NextDoor Polling?
NextDoor Polling allows a NextDoor sponsor to create and publish a poll to a local market. Building the poll is pretty simple. Come up with a question you want to ask, include the answers for your question, and publish. Its pretty easy. I do wish it would allow pictures, or at least one picture, to be included with the post. Having visuals like pictures or videos to attract and engage readers is important!
Our most recent poll asked the question: Where do you think the Beaumont real estate market is going in 2019? Then we provided four answers to choose from. We wanted the question to be simple and easy to digest.
Here's a screenshot of our poll:
Using NextDoor for Real Estate Polling
The response has been decent. We posted the poll on Friday, and as I sit here and write this blog on Sunday, we are at 79 responses and votes, and two comments, although one of those comments is me responding to the first comment! :)
It's been interesting getting a glimpse into the mind of our local market. No, its not a controlled study, but it can help us understand attitudes in a local market. But it makes me wonder how these polls could help our real estate business? Have you ever used NextDoor or its Polling Tool? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the neighborhood networking site, how you've used it, or why you don't.
