  • Tiz the season when entertainment is more frequent and there is the chance that "accidents happen." Your tablecloth may meet with some red red winewine that is spilled...not to is the remedy !
  • Blot do not rub the spill...removing excess wine with a clean white cloth
  • Slide a bowl under the fabric with the stain in the center
  • Sprinkle salt on the stain
  • Add boiling water
  • Machine wash as usual

red wine carpet stain  The wine may also find its way to the carpeting...not to worry it can be removed with things you have on hand. Here is the procedure:

- Blot to remove excess NOT rub

- Pour cold water and continue blotting until you have  removed as much of the stain as possible.

- Make a paste of baking soda mixing 3 parts water to one part baking soda. When the paint is dry, vacuum the dried paste.

No whining...enjoy your careful...but now you have a plan B...just in case !

Thanks for sharing these tips, Sally,  I prefer these quick home remedies to the expensive stain removers which really don't seem to work any better.

When I was in my first apartment and had my first party, someone spilled red wine on my new sofa cushion. I have no idea how I knew this (no Google then) but I sprinkled salt on it. It did come out!!! The next party I had there, I had only white wine. LOL

OH WOW! I never knew that! Funny but, we had lots of red wine floating around our house last evening and again this evening and I don't think a drop was least not that I found! LOL

Hope you have a great weekend, Hansons Both!
