"If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
Two of my favorite pastimes in December are listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies. I love listening to the old songs that warm your heart even on the coldest nights. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
I also enjoy watching Christmas movies because they are always filled with hope and joy. Even the comedies inspire you to remember to love our fellow man. In many ways, I am like the character Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) in Christmas Vacation, not always perfect but at least well-meaning. Some of my other favorites movies include Miracle on 34th St., White Christmas and of course Love Actually.
The holiday season is a great time to appreciate all that we have. It is a great time to mend fences and a maybe even great time to start over if your year has been challenging.
Even if you do not celebrate Christmas or if you celebrate another holiday, the feeling should be universal. Make the season one of inclusion, brotherhood, and joy to the world.
Below I have included a clip from the opening scene from the movie Love Actually. I am not sure that the scriptwriters knew how insightful this opening scene was at the time they wrote it, after all, the movie is a comedy.
Please indulge me by taking 1 minute and 12 seconds out of your busy day to view this opening scene from the movie.
