Our November 2018 RV Road Trip - New Hampshire to Florida

By
Home Stager with Sharon Tara Transformations

As some of you already know, Rick and I took a 3 1/2 week roadtrip with our RV recently.

We had never had more than a one week vacation. Rick's retirement this year made an extended vacation possible.

We both love Disney World and Universal Studios and it had been many years since visiting either. Our vacation plans began with reservations at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. The rest of the trip was planned around that and visiting my parents in Florida.

We left New Hampshire on November 1.

We drove for three days...spending one night each in Pennsylvania, Virginia and South Carolina.

On the fourth day we arrived in Summerfield, Florida.

We spent several days there visiting my parents.

Our daughter and her boyfriend surprised us...flying in from New York to be there with us.

Next we headed to Orlando where we spent two days at Universal...

and three days at Disney World...

It was a very full week...with a LOT of walking. It was very hot and humid so we were looking forward to returning to Summerfield where we could relax at my parent's pool.

Temps dropped considerably and the next three days in Summerfield were quite cool...60's. We didn't get to the pool. No complaints though because back home in New Hampshire it was snowing and temps were only in the teens.

Mom had a craft fair while we were there so we helped out with that. Dad kicked my butt playing cards. We even did a little arts and crafts...stay tuned for more on that.

We took 8 days to make our way home.

First stop was Georgia for two nights... one of my favorite parts of our trip.

I'll be writing more about that soon.

Next three nights were spent in North Carolina.

One cold night in Virginia and then one cold and very rainy night in Pennsylvania and we arrived home on Sunday, November 25.

It was a wonderful trip, but we are happy to be home and looking forward to the holidays with our family!

They were really crowded...at Magic Kingdom we only got on 4 rides in the 5 hours we were there. It just wasn't worth the effort so we left and went to Epcot. Much better there, but maybe it was the time of day. One ride at Epcot we waited just under two hours to get on.

that sounds like so much fun! I drove from Santa Fe to Flagstaff in October - that gave me a taste of that cross country drive I have never taken!  Definitely need to spread it out with a few breaks in between

Lise Howe  The only way I can do it is with many breaks. I'm not a "non-stop" passenger.

Joan Cox  Thank you. We didn't feel like kids at all...age was definitely showing.

Kathy Streib  Much better trip! Yes, I belong on land. LOL

Carol Williams It was great...we hope to do another one in the spring.
