We enjoy the announcements of "color of the year" by major paint companies and always find them interesting....and different from each other. This year Sherwin Williams has chosen a warm rust they have dubbed Cavern Clay. This is quite the contrast when compared to the other major paint company choices. You may see our blog for examples from Behr of Blueprint S 470-5 a foggy but definitive blue with a touch of teal and Benjamin Moore's "quieter" choice of a neutral gray they are calling Metropolitan AF-690.
Cavern Clay is a bold choice. The company's press release says it is "a nod to midcentury modern style, but with the soul of the American Southwest, which together create the desert modern aesthetic.”
The colors and depths of them vary considerably this year...you will see their infuence spread throughout the choices offered in furniture and other furnishings in the new year.
