This is a quote from a song, "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time" by Tyrone Davis.
How many of us truly wish we could turn back the hands of time? I'm not sure there's not one person that would say, NO Thank You. Especially with the knowledge we have today and all the experiences that we've gained. I think most of us would go back and undo the wrongs that we've done and fix the errors or all of the "I told you so's" from our parents. It's amazing at the age I'm at now and with all of my experiences, I sit here and think about, would I really go back and change something? The more I think about it, I'm not really sure I would want to, because, if my bad experiences wouldn't have happened, I don't believe I would have made the decision to move from one state to another where I met my husband and had my children. Sometimes, it takes a bad experience to make a good outcome. We learn from our mistakes and make better choices. Now, on the other hand, if I would have the knowledge of turning back the clock and making sure I'm at the same place and the same time where I met my husband in order to have my children and not go through the bad experiences, then I can say YES to going back. We have no guarantees in life, except we know that death and taxes are for sure. So, when I hear this song, If I could turn back the hands of time, I can only appreciate all the decisions I made and reflect on the goodness of GOD and where I am today.
What I've learned in all of this, is that our past is just that our past, we can't change it, but we must learn from it.
Every decision that we made, whether it was good or bad has now brought us to where we are today, I'm truly thankful that I am who I am right now in my life. Could it be better?, of course, we all can do better and be better, as my dad use to tell us, "there's always room from improvement". I go by my children's school motto, "Good, Better, Best, never rest until your good is better and your better is best!
