I think back on what my mother in law/love always use to say to all of her children, grandchildren and great grands, "Do good and good will come back to you". This statement is so true, it's like the Golden Rule, "You do unto others as you would have them to unto you". We all want good to come back to us, but do we dish out the good that we want? We all have to make a conscious decisions to do good, it's so easy to try to get back at someone who has done us wrong, or as we say, get even or get back at them. My dad use to tell me, "You don't have to get even, you just let go and let GOD." He always told people, "You can't mess with the KID", as a kid, I didn't understand it at the time, but he was right, some call it KARMA, I call it "God's got my back" I am a child of GOD and my saying is now, "You don't know who you're messing with" or "You don't know my Father".
When my children were little, I use to tell me, "It's easy to do good, so just do good, you have to take the time to think about the bad you're going to do because you don't want to get caught and you don't want to be in trouble, it takes some thought into being bad and once you get caught, now you have to pay for that bad or wrong doing." Now, that they're all grown, they're teaching my grands the same thing. So, it's a wonderful thing knowing the good that you have instilled in someone or watching them using it to better someone else's life.
Seems like in today's society, we can get so caught up with our everyday lives that we forget to say, thank you or have a good day. When in reality the smallest things can make a great impact, so do good and good will come back to you. Give someone a smile, hug, or just wave. Buy them a cup of coffee, the next time you're in line at the drive through, go ahead and pay for the person behind you, make their day and yours will be made.
