Don’t Meth with Home Sales!
The referral was sent out to a trusted listing agent. He was able to get the home decluttered, cleaned and in order to put it on the market. The home was priced well and went under contract quickly.
All was going well until the home inspection revealed a few things that were unacceptable, including high levels of meth present in the basement. The 50-something year old owners had no idea how this could be!
After questioning their 20-something year old, they came to realize that on the weekends, he and his buddies were partying pretty hard in the basement using illegal substances - meth to be exact.
It fell out of contract as expected! A quick price drop was in order along with a disclosure about the meth discovery in the home. It went under contract again after much cost and negotiation, eventually recording.
Let this be a warning to all parents out there, allowing their grown kids to live at home in their basements, when they should be out on their own. Their bad habits wreak havoc and can meth with the sale of a home!
