Oh what fun technology can be! When it woks, it is great. When it doesn't, well, it can bring out the inner monster in all of us.
It seems to me that as long as I don't absolutely need my various forms of technology, it works just fine. On those days where I am under a tight deadline to get something done, those are the days that everything breaks down. Nothing seems to work, or it has slowed to glacial speed. These are the times that the Hulk comes out to play. I start to grunt and throw buildings around. Not a pretty sight.
I think one way to keep these Hulk moments down to the bare minimum is to never update any software and then not test it after wards to make sure that it still works. Additionally, don't ever set up a new piece of software (or hardware) and not learn to use it before you really need it.
It also seems to me that my worst moments are when I am on the road or somewhere not normal and I try to operate as if I am in my office. Always a glitch. This is when Bruce Banner becomes irritated. Again not pretty.
So, if you depend upon technology to operate your business, make sure it is up-to-date and well tested before you need it. Or, even better, forgo as much of this stuff as you can and go sit down with your customer / Client and interact face to face. This can help keep the Hulk at bay.
